My Story
I will make a loving pet for anyone who wants to give me a chance at a happy life. The good folks at MARL have given me a temporary home, but please come and rescue me from the possibility of euthanasia. As you know, there are so many stray animals that are picked up and brought in off of the streets, MARL has to make room for others by putting to sleep the ones who don't find a home. I am a beautiful girl who deserves a chance at happiness!

Meet Buddy & Missy
This is a TRUE rescue story that will take an angel sent from the heavens just for Buddy & Missy! Please, won't you be our angel?
Where dogs are located now:
ARF
Name: Buddy
Gender: Male
Age: 5 years
Breed: Golden Retriever/Chow mix
Color: Red
Size: Large
Neutered/Spayed: Yes
House Trained: Yes!
Medical Information: Healthy
Interaction with Kids: Good with kids
Interaction with Dogs: Only Missy
Interaction with Cats: Good with cats
Ideal type of home: I would be best suited with a family who has
the ability to spend time with me, take me on long walks and throw a ball for me
in a fenced back yard. I, and the folks at Arf, would love to see me get adopted
along with my adopted momma, Missy.
Where I came from / How I came to the Shelter: Arf originally rescued
me when I was a pup in 2004. I was born to one of the stray dogs that live in the
downtown graveyard. One day, I saw a nice lady and knew that she could help me,
so I went running down George Street, behind the Justice building, and jumped right
into her arms! I had no idea that she could take me to such a wonderful place, though,
I still long for a home of my own. As a young puppy, I was adopted by a great family
who took good care of me, house-trained me, and taught me good manners. They already
had Missy, and she took me in like her very own pup. I love her so much and just
can't imagine a life without her!
Sadly, the family who adopted me became victims of the economic downturn. The job was lost, then home was lost, and they had to move in with in-laws out of state where there was no room for us. Arf's adoption contract states that if life should change and the new owners can't keep us, we should be returned to the shelter to avoid something worse happening to us. Thankfully, our family loves us enough to do the right thing and take us back, then the good folks at Arf also gladly took my adopted mom, Missy too.
My Story
I am a beautiful boy with loads of personality. I love to run in the field and watch the wildlife. At Arf they have ducks, deer and geese that are great for my personal entertainment! My adopted dog-mom, Missy, and I are great playmates and it warms everyone's hearts to see how much we love each other. We love to romp, run and play as long as is allowed. I am great with people, children and cats. I don't care much for other dogs, except for momma-Missy, but I am VERY affectionate with people and I love to be brushed and doted on!
