My Story

Someone called CARA on a Sunday afternoon and said that there was a dog lying in the middle of the street in downtown Jackson that had been hit by a car. I was in pain and frightened, so my saving angel stayed with me until CARA staff could arrive. My head hurt really badly. CARA staff could not locate a veterinarian open on Sunday to treat me so I was taken back to the shelter and given pain meds and steroids for swelling. They really didn't think that I would make it through the night, but the next morning I greeted everyone with a wagging tail. I was SO happy to have been saved off of the streets and get good food in my belly. I still had a little pain but nothing that a full tummy couldn't over come. I was named Trooper because in spite of a slight head disfigurement from the accident, I am the "sweetest and most grateful dog at the shelter!" I absolutely LOVE people and all I want out of life is to be loved in return. CARA volunteers have taken me to Petsmart (oh I love it there! So many sights and smells! Fun for a dog!!!) and they always praise me so much because I behave so beautifully.

You can see more about me on the attached video. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I know that someone can save me and give me a warm, safe and loving place to live out my life!

Where I came from / How I came to the Shelter: We were the result of a back yard breeding program. Our breeder dumped us at the shelter stating that they had "sold all but these two." So now we are now scared and homeless and hoping that a new family would adopt us and show us that people really can make a life-long commitment to the dogs they love!

Our Story

We are pure Labs that are looking for a happy and loving home. We don't have to be placed together because we are hoping to find a new life-long family. A shelter is no place for puppies and we are the perfect age for adoption. Please come to CARA to visit us! We know you will love our puppy breath!
