My Story

Thankfully a nice lady took me in off of the streets. She was convinced that I have a home somewhere, but she was unable to find them so she had to bring me to MARL. The folks here are awfully nice but I sure would like a family that will love on me and call me their own. Please come visit me, I know I could make you happy!

My Story

Tildy needs a home!

I am a very nice girl who loves to go for walks and then get a nice belly rub when we get back. I could be a great watch dog for your family if you just give me a chance, Bassets, as a breed are great family pets and love children!

Gopher needs a home!

Meet Gopher

Where dog is located now: CARA
Name: Gopher
Sex: Male
Age: 10 weeks
Breed: Lab / Aussie / Newfoundland / Cocker mix???
Color: Chocolate
Size: Medium to Large
Neutered/Spayed: Yes
House Trained: Crate Trained
Medical Information: Healthy
Interaction with Kids: Yes
Interaction with Dogs: Yes
Interaction with Cats: Yes
Ideal type of home: I am such an easy going and fun guy that I can be happy anywhere!
Where I came from / How I came to the Shelter: When we were only three weeks old, my brother and I were tossed out at CARA like trash...Two men literally drove up and threw us out on the ground and drove away. My brother had a horrible wound on his back and had to be euthanized and God only knows what happened to my mother. My brother was all I had left in this world and he too was taken from me. I was a sad little boy for a little while but now I am looking toward to the future.

My Story

I had to be raised on a bottle and it made me form a wonderful bond with people. I know that there are good people in the world and I am hopeful that one of them will adopt me and love me forever! I will need a patient person because I am still just a baby and there are certain challenges that come along with puppy hood, so please don't freak out if I potty on the floor or chew up the remote control. Just always remember to be "smarter than the dog" and don't leave me unattended so that I can get into trouble. It looks like I may grow to be a big boy, so prepare yourself, that's a lot of love to give!

Dara and Chaz

Meet Dara and Chaz

Where cats are located now: CARA
Name: Dara and Chaz
Sex: Female and Male
Age: 5 months
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Color: Brown Tabby
Size: Small
Neutered/Spayed: Yes
Litterbox Trained: Yes
Medical Information: See Information Below
Interaction with Kids: Unknown
Interaction with Dogs: Unknown
Interaction with Cats: Great
Ideal type of home: We have had a very tragic life and therefore will need a home with a lot of kindness and love!
Where I came from / How I came to the Shelter: We were brought to CARA in May of this year. My name is Dara and my brother's name is Chaz. Someone found us in a ditch after one of those hard summer rain storms and we were drenched and then became very sick afterwards. We developed a severe conjunctivitus infection in our eyes. We were treated with medicine but it did not work fast enough to slow our infection so we ended up needing multiple eye surgeries. Chaz has had 3 surgeries and I have had 2 eye surgeries. We can see, but our eyes have developed scaring due to the severe infection. Dr. Rumbavage has now given us a clean bill of health but he says that the scars will be with us forever. All we need now is a fun-loving home where we can live happily ever after. We have grown very attached to each other so we prefer to be adopted together. Gosh, we have been through so much together in our short little life so far,... we just cannot bear to be split apart.
